L’unica cosa positiva del treno Torino-Milano sono le alpi che si vedono dal finestrino – ilpasseggero8b

Why did you pick this picture?

I took this picture on the train. When I started, I used to do it during my daily travels for work from Turin to Milan (Italy). During this 50 minutes of travel I sketched the passengers in front of me, and I just wrote an ironic quote about the feeling they transmitted to me. After taking a picture of the sketch, I added it in a social post of the @ilpasseggero8b profile.

Where did the idea for this art come from?

For more than a year I travelled by train from Turin to Milan for work, and every day I sat in front of different people. The idea of “il passeggero 8b” was born precisely from this daily experience, from curiosity towards the lives of people who are facing me for 50 minutes during this travel.

What does this art mean to you?

For me, this project is a way of giving back to the passengers that I meet every day the idea of being part of a community, real and not so virtual. This is a representation of the reality I see every day, a way of participating in it.

What can you tell us about yourself?

I’ve always drawn and for me it’s a way to tell a story, to represent what’s going on. Traveling by train was a pleasure for me, now let’s say it’s something more, it’s a third life, after the work and private one.

This project taught me that everyone has a different point of view, the important thing is to tell it to the others.

What more can you tell us about your art?

You can find the complete gallery of passengers looking for @ilpasseggero8b profile on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.

Maybe somebody can also recognize themselves :).

Also there will be news soon, this train encyclopedia could become a real book!
