Miniature Fully Loaded Chocolate Sundae Brownie Charm – sapphiremooncrafts

Why did you pick this picture?

I feel like it captures what I do best: it’s cute, miniature and involves my love for food! I am also really happy with how it came out as it looks super realistic and many people asked me at first if it was a picture of a real brownie ๐Ÿ™‚

Where did the idea for this art come from?

I started off a few years ago watching tutorials on YouTube. I was going through a difficult time and needed that one thing I could turn to when life got stressful. I just stumbled upon polymer clay videos one day and I was so amazed with the things that could be created simply with a bit of coloured clay and an oven. As soon as I could, I ordered as much clay and as many tools as possible to begin my creative clay journey and I haven’t looked back!

What does this art mean to you?

This art represents a time where I really felt bad and got through it. Polymer clay is my hobby to distract myself with temporary escape. It means everything that I found it, because I can rely on it most of the time to cheer me up.

What can you tell us about yourself?

I am a 21 year old student studying German and Spanish at a university in the UK. I am currently on a year abroad and travelling, but I always try and find time to unwind with my clay and crafting. I think it’s really important to take time out of busy days to do what you love. I love languages but claying is my relaxation and sort of a mini business! It makes me happy to know people receive handmade items that make them smile!

What more can you tell us about your art?

That there are so many ways of expressing yourself with clay. Not only can you make the teeniest food for dolls and doll houses, but you can make funky jewellery, cute charms and intricate sculptures! I love it because it’s so diverse and looking around, I see that all polymer clay artists all have their own style, which leads to this great community we have with discussing ideas and techniques. It’s made me meet a lot of interesting people and like with any art, it’s all about developing your own style.
