” Tupac Shakur ” Legends never die – ademiltonsandramo

Why did you pick this picture?

A client, that soon became a friend commissioned this picture. I helped her pick this one manly because of the position and quality. But she gave me a lot of creative freedom, so I decided how it would look at the end.

Where did the idea for this art come from?

-Recently I’ve been looking at a lot of double exposure picture, I think a big part of the inspiration came from that. And I didn’t want it to be just a face, I wanted to create meaning for people to reflect on.

What does this art mean to you?

-For me this is inspiring, specially because we are creators, and as creators we will inspire other people, and our art even when we are gone will still be here spreading love.

What can you tell us about yourself?

– My name is Ademilton de Paulo Dias Sandramo, I’m 21 years old and I live in Maputo (Mozambique). I started drawing in 2012, I actually didn’t know I could do anything like that, I would see some friends drawing back when I lived in Chimoio (Manica Province, Mozambique), I lived there most of my childhood, although I was born in Beira (Sofala Province, Mozambique) and I came to Maputo (Capital of Mozambique) in 2013 to study Civil engineering.

So I would see some friends drawing but I wouldn’t really pay attention until a teacher from grade 12 asked us to bring any work from home. A friend and I decided to paint Michael Jackson, we would make our own canvas and follow a step by step process on YouTube about how to draw Michael Jackson.

So that was the plan but my friend gave up, he changed his project but I didn’t. I made the canvas and started painting. But something wasn’t right, I didn’t know what was it but I did something wrong and I couldn’t work with that canvas. I had lost time so I couldn’t make another canvas so I decided to draw on paper. And that’s what I did and for me at that time it was perfect, i still have it and that was my first drawing.

From that point I started learning everything I could on the Internet, watching videos on YouTube, and reading books about art
I drew Angelina Jolie ( this one I don’t have it anymore, I gave it to a little girl on the street, she saw it and said I want to show it to my mom, can you give it to me? ) and I just couldn’t say no, the smile on her face was amazing

And then some friends started asking me to draw them, I did some of them and more requests came and it never stopped.

What more can you tell us about your art?

-I have a lot of ideas, last year I started painting with acrylic, and I feel that this is just the beginning of my journey. I will keep learning and getting better (and the most important) I will keep expressing myself through art
