Fantasy Sea Turtle – crazycraftcreations

Why did you pick this picture?

I chose this picture because it’s one of my favorites. When I first started to make this turtle I hated how it was turning out so I left it alone and it sat on my desk for several months before I decided to give it another go! In the end I was so happy how it turned out.

Where did the idea for this art come from?

I love turtles! I had three as pets growing up. This particular piece actually started out with a piece of scrap clay! The piece in the centre was a bunch of scrap pieces mushed together and I was inspired the mix of colors. I didn’t know at the time it was going to be a turtle but I just knew I wanted to make something with it.

What does this art mean to you?

My art is my happy place! It allows me to express my creativity. And if I can make someone else smile in the process…well what better then that?

What can you tell us about yourself?

My name is Erica I am 37 years old and I am currently living in Toronto, Canada. I love all things crafty and creative but my favorite medium is polymer clay. I dabbled in polymer clay in high school and just recently got back into it and I love it!

What more can you tell us about your art?

All of my art is made with polymer clay. Polymer clay is an non toxic oven baked clay that harden when baked. It comes in many colors and can also be mixed to create custom colors. My favorite brands of clay are Premo and Soufflé both are made by Sculpey. I prefer these because of their strength and durability.
