Doughnut time – artoniiaa

Why did you pick this picture?

I picked this drawing because it is a great reflection of my style as an artist. This doughnut is not an ordinary one. It is a sweet combination of an interesting concept and realistic elements. I also added a pinch of love and creativity. It is one of my favourite pieces so far because it brings me joy and gives me visual pleasure. So why don’t you have a bite?

Where did the idea of this art come from?

The idea just popped into my head one rainy Sunday when I desperately needed something to brighten up my day. I have also always been inspired by artists who can draw realistically. This piece is one of my first attempts to draw a realistic object but in my own style of combining realism with different ways of seeing things. I always try to look further than I can see and to pour my emotions through shapes and colours when I create art.

What does this art mean to you?

This art as well as all the art I have created is a therapy which allows me to set my creativity free.

What can you tell us about yourself?

I am in the final year of high school where I have been studying Economics for five years. I gradually realized that I wanted to do something different. I wanted to be an artist. So that’s why I often ended up redrawing an interesting cover of a notebook or making a portrait of a teacher during classes. I am also a track and field athlete and as a hurdler I am not afraid to get over obstacles. Running as well as drawing has a special place in my heart

What more can you tell us about your art?

I love drawing since I could hold a pencil, but I started in earnest about 2 years ago. I am always trying to create meaningful art so it takes me so long to come up with a good idea. That’s why I love walking early in the morning. It is a perfect time to let the morning sun and cool air boost my mood and fresh up my mind.
