Yoda – adakeesler

Why did you pick this picture?

I picked this piece because it shows my unique style of drawing. I love line art and pen drawings. Yoda is a popular and recognizable character all around the world, and I am able to show my love for the movies as well as incorporate myself into the piece through my style.

Where did the idea for this art come from?

The idea of Yoda simply came through my love of Star Wars. Fan art is a fantastic way to show others your art style, as well as your appreciation for other types of art, in this case cinema.

What does this art mean to you?

One of the reasons I love Star Wars is because it’s about good overcoming evil, even when it seems the other way around, there are always people fighting for what is good. Yoda is a fantastic character who exudes wisdom and self disciple. This portrait of Yoda simply reminds me who I want to be, and who I can be.

What can you tell us about yourself?

I am an artist, maker, and graphic designer from Utah, USA. I love to backpack, hike, and spend time outdoors. I am an avid reader, and love a good story. I have always been artistically inclined, and I showed that through various ways while growing up. Halfway through my undergrad I decided to study art, and it was one of the best decisions I have made in my life. Choosing to pursue something you love, even when its not the easiest path, will always be more rewarding and satisfying.

What more can you tell us about your art?

My art is always a form of self expression and a way for me to relax. Creating is essential to my life, and it makes me feel whole. I am a graphic designer and illustrator. My favorite mediums are pen and ink as well as intaglio and block printmaking. When people view my art I want them to feel some type of emotion. Wether that be awe, disgust, happiness, misery, or mere enjoyment is of no importance to me. As long as you feel something, I have done my job.
