Majesty – lularoeamberallen

Why did you pick this picture?

It’s my best work and the piece I’m most proud of. It has symbolism in my Christian faith too.

Where did the idea for this art come from?

Originally it was just another hobby project to do on the weekends. I wanted something that symbolized leadership for my office. With each line, its beauty stood out more and more that I knew it was going to be something special.

What does this art mean to you?

It means boldness and trust in God to provide. I was in a car accident in Nov 2015, and my middle finger on my etching hand was broken. The doctor told me without surgery, I would never be able to etch again. I went through months of rehab to be able to do this again. So when I see this piece, it’s a reminder of what the Lord has helped me through and that He watches over me.

What can you tell us about yourself?

I’m a child prodigy who started college at 14. I worked with many recording artists and celebrities in Nashville in my music industry career. I was a season 2 contestant on American Idol. I’ve been a model and extra in music videos, commercials, and movies. I made the switch to medicine 8 years ago and am now a national speaker in my medical specialty and teach as well.

What more can you tell us about your art?

This foil etching talent started as a hobby. I’ve gotten better and better at it with each piece. I never thought of myself as an artist. I did it as a means to give friends and family a unique Christmas gift from my own hands. I’ve used my pieces to raise money for scholarships to help underprivileged students a chance at college. It’s never been a revenue stream for me. It’s just been a way to give to those around me.
