Kokusai Street in Okinawa – tiffchk

Why did you pick this picture?

This was one very memorable moment and place for me during my trip to Okinawa, Japan. It was one of the most important sightings of Okinawa and I work a lot on the details and color of this piece.

Where did the idea for this art come from?

I have a whole series of this kind of watercolor works in my Instagram page, and the idea was to keep myself a travel diary of the memorable places I traveled to. I photographed things that were especially unforgettable for me during the trips and later paint them along with a simple description of the moment and location.

What does this art mean to you?

Painting my art travel diaries is really becoming part of my life now. This kind of art is something that keeps my happy moments in traveling fresh and keeps my interest going with consistency.

What can you tell us about yourself?

I always loved traveling to different places, and my travel diaries are referenced from my own photography during the trips. I like to share my travels using watercolor to paint my memories, and I strongly feel that this is something very important that I want to do as an traveler and as an artist.

What more can you tell us about your art?

I usually paint my art works using watercolor as the main media, and I really enjoy this media and being all colorful with it. I keep a style that is more illustrated, which is not too realistic nor animated, and I really hope that you enjoyed my art as much as I did myself🌞
