Native American – dominikkohlsdorf

Why did you pick this picture?

I picked this portrait of a woman, because it’s the most detailed and time- consuming painting so far. For me it’s a big step forward, because it’s the first time I have paint a coloured portrait with oil coloures instead of pencils.

Where did the idea for this art come from?

The idea comes from the fact, that I have long dealed with the bohemian style and like this style till now. I painted a portrait of a person, that lives out this style. So I’ve been stucked to a picture and tried to paint it as most photorealistic as possible. 🙂

What can you tell us about yourself?

My name is Dominik. I’m 21 years old and self- taught artist from Germany. I practise drawing and painting as a hobby and share my art on Facebook and Instagram. In school I visited the art- course in 11th and 12th class. I began with some small drawings as a child, but really rediscovered hobby art about 3 years ago.

What more can you tell us about your art?

I tried to work with diverse materials and techniques. So I made many pencil drawings, acrylic and oil paintings. Inspired by artist from all around the world I’ve also tried to paint extremely small paintings or do some graffity art. Today I try to focus on oil paintings or small acrylic paintings. The themes here are always different, like animals, pokémon, flowers or other things I like to draw. 🙂
