Why did you pick this picture?
The idea for the piece was: “funky and a little weird”, which I like because I think it’s a good way to live your life!
Where did the idea for this art come from?
I’m studying biology at university and I’m hugely inspired by the specimens I get to look at and work with in my labs, so in taking a vertebrate physiology course this semester, skulls and skeletons came naturally.
What does this art mean to you?
This piece and all my pieces mean a lot. Doing art is my favourite way to de-stress and gives me a sense of complete freedom, so they all hold a certain level of happiness for me.
What can you tell us about your self?
I love biology and the enormous diversity that exists on our planet. I love drawing animals and things that wouldn’t typically be considered beautiful, in an attempt to change the sometimes negative views of that particular animal.
What more can you tell us about your art?
It’s a work in progress, but I hope to one day inspire people to see the beauty in all kinds of creatures!
