Why did you pick this picture?
this piece of art is from a wider body of work called the ‘Humanness Series’, the important topics of human unity and no discrimination against caste, colour or creed in this series are very close to my heart
Where did this idea for the art come from?
My upbringing has been a spiritual one, the movement that has helped to bring about this inner awareness is called the ‘Nirankari Mission’. Nirankari meaning those that realise the positive energy within them. With all the blind acts of violence and hatred, this series was created to bring about a sense of responsibility for ourselves and how our actions positive or negative radiate and affect others and therefore the wider community.
What does this art mean to you?
My process of art itself is one of release, however the wider socio political aspects of this series are hugely relevant to this day and age. It’s a conversation that needs to constantly be had and acted on.
What can you tell us about yourself?

"Humanness Extended" •We Need SO MUCH More Of This Series Topic• #blacklivesmatter #alllivesmatter #nice #paris #syria #somanymore The work's title examines the issue of humanity in todays world, it aims to illuminate the topic of 'peace in art'. The viewer is asked to consider how the experiences of inner freedom and awareness of self in the midst of worldwide conflict and despair can change oneself and therefore go onto make wider, positive changes within society. The rapid and expressive gestures that zip across these compositions go on to inform the sense of rhythm and buoyancy that define individual human emotion.
