Why did you pick this picture?
I picked this picture of Bill Murray since it’s a bit unusual to see such a humorous character cleaned up so nicely. It’s a part of a larger photoshoot he did, so the picture was great for reference as it was clear and defined.
Where did the idea for this art come from?
A couple of years ago I had started a portrait of Bill Murray that I had just never got around to finishing. After coming back to it recently, I noticed the piece had marks and spots on it I wasn’t able to erase, and the piece itself was not up to my current skill level anyway, so I figured I’d give Bill another try.
What does this art mean to you?
My Mom had praised the original piece I had started, and continued to push me to finish it, so when I redid it all together she was happy to see me complete a piece in honor of such a great actor and comedian, so it means I can finally move on to new art and no longer have to worry about the old, dusty piece sitting on my desk.
What can you tell us about yourself?
I am an aspiring artist going into my third year of high school, living in suburban Illinois near Chicago. I’ve had a passion for art ever since I was able to hold a crayon, and I consider myself lucky to find something I am so passionate about. Art is a great focal point in my life, and I plan to continue working hard to become a better artist.
What more can you tell us about your art?
My work mostly focuses on Portraits, Comic style work based around superheroes and inking especially, and right now Acrylic painting. I will continue to produce more portraits, comic style work, and paintings, hoping to grow into oil painting soon. All future work will be posted on Instagram, and I plan and hope to post more frequently
