Why I picked this photo?
This piece always seems to resonate with people – the colors, the eyes… people make a connection with it. It’s my most popular piece, and my pride and joy.
Where did the idea come from?
This piece only took me 20 minutes to complete. It happened in a moment of emotion and uneasiness – painting rapidly with my fingers. I wanted to portray a lost gaze – one with hope, yet confusion.
What can you tell us about yourself?
I am a 19 year old artist from Boston, MA, though I currently live in San Antonio, TX. My best friend, Molly, and I make up the Caprigo Sisters (@caprigosisters), a collective art group. Together we motivate and critique each other’s work and attend art venues together.
What more can you tell us about your art?
My work is inspired my nature and the empowerment of women. I put my self into my pieces, sharing my own emotions, my story of domestic abuse and judgment, and how I found solace
