Bunnies Galore – rabbittownart

Why did you pick this picture? I actually drew this on one of my birthdays and it still reminds me of what a good day that was….and I love bunnies.

Where did the idea for this art come from?

I was doodling in a cafe and it just kept on evolving as I drew.

What does this art mean to you?

It’s a reminder on how doodling can become much more. This piece has been featured in a couple of art pages and has been quite popular in social media. I find it surprising since I was just randomly drawing bunnies. There wasn’t even a pencil sketch underneath this…I was drawing with a ballpoint pen and enjoying coffee at the time and not even thinking about the composition or how it was even going to turn out.

What can you tell us about yourself?

I am an illustrator and a 2D animator by profession and have been in the industry since 2004 in Australia. I am a workaholic and a sugar addict. In my spare time I play an illustration game with another illustrator/animator on kookyrabbit.tumblr.com and run my Redbubble shop:http://www.redbubble.com/people/firerabbit (this piece could be foinf there, by the way). I also do a lot of Urban Sketching and help run the meetup group.

What more can you tell us about your art?

I tend to draw whatever I feel like or what I feel that am challenged to do at the time, such as changing the mediums up and the subject matter changes often. I enjoy drawing stuff from imagination and I also find it enjoyable to draw what’s in front of me. I tend to veer towards more surreal and fantasy themes in my art when I illustrate from imagination.
