Networks – lauren_fairytale

Why did you pick this picture?

I picked this picture because I like the simplicity of it and I’ve done numerous versions of it and plan to do a larger scale piece of it soon
Where did the idea come from?

The idea came when my art teacher gave us 6 themes to choose from and one of the themes was ‘network’ and my immediate thought was constellations as I’ve always had a huge love and interest for the stars, constellations and zodiac.

Why does this picture mean so much to you?

The art means a lot to me because a lot of my art is typically darker, sometimes I won’t share it on Instagram or anywhere. This one is a calming peace and it just screams “serenity” at me and that’s what it means to me. It’s a nice piece compared to my other works.

What can you tell us about yourself?

About myself? Well I’m 17 years old and been drawing since I could hold a pencil. I have endless amount of sketchpads, all unfinished, and I really love photography as well, I start college in September and hope to do more art as well as photography, creative writing and animation.

What can you tell us about your art?

My art is like an extension of me (sorry for being cliché) I usually draw what I feel or things/people who inspire me the most or make me happy. I’ve begun drawing my friends a lot recently and I’ve been really enjoying it. I’m moved on to doing new poses and creating all new characters and giving them unique personalities. The majority of my art can be quite dark due to personal issues I’ve dealt with and I’ve always seen art as a sort of ‘light at the end of the tunnel” or a ‘silver lining’ that no matter what happens as long as I can draw I’ll be okay. I’ve tried so many different aspects of art from portrait painting to landscape to even fashion designing and making my own clothes. It was animation/illustration that got me to stick with it and I have now for the past 5 years and it’s made me who I am today. I love my art and I want people to be inspired by my work like I have with other artists.
