Jacques Yves Cousteau portrait – arri_illustration

Why did you pick this picture?
It‘s an image that has given me and is giving me a lot of joy.

Where did the idea for this art come from?
Some friends and I have a clothing brand (MUTED CLOTHING) and last summer we decided it had to be part of the Deep Ocean collection. We thought it would be a good idea to make him belong to the MUTED family for all the values that it represents.
What does this art mean to you?
JYC is a reference to me. Since I was a kid his documentaries fascinated me and my mother knew the best way to keep me quiet. Somehow this portrait is a tribute to the figure of JYC who made me love and respect the sea and underwater life.
What can you tell us about yourself?
I’m 30, from San Sebastian, Basque Country. I studied Fine Arts and Graphic Design. If I’m not drawing I’m swimming. I’m a normal person, most of the times.

What more can you tell us about your art?
I consider myself an amateur artist. Despite I have been always drawing, I have the feeling that I just started and the best is yet to come
