Why did you pick this picture?
I like to create illustrations based on designer collections I really like. Sacai’s Spring and Summer collection was one of them.
Where did the idea come from?
The idea came from Sacai’s, a designer brand, Spring and Summer 2016 collection for men. When looking at runway pictures, the mix of patterns and colors really stood out to me. I wanted to implement these aspects into a unique fashion illustration.
Why does this picture mean so much to you?
My past fashion illustrations were done in pencil with minimal paint. However, this is my second illustration done in mainly acrylic. I feel like I have created a more personal style which I plan to further experiment with.
What can you tell us about yourself?
I am a first year college student studying Animation. Although I am interested in this major, I want to change my major to Fashion Design since it influences and appeals to me more.
What more can you tell us about your art?
I focus mainly on fashion illustrations, however, I have explored many other ideas and mediums. I really love drawing and painting, so I tend to use these mediums a lot in my work. I like to combine 2-D and 3-D elements into my illustrations to create a unique style. My recent paintings seem to showcase more 2-D techniques as I utilize a blocky painting style.
